SUMMER ENSEMBLES
Repertoire
Our Summer Ensembles are self-guided workshops consisting of groups who do not regularly play together. The groups meet on various week day evenings at different locations in the Charlottesville area and Crozet. We work on one or two pieces per group as well as the skills specific to playing in an ensemble.
The workshops culminate in performances in open public venues such as the lobby at UVA Hospital, The Lodge at Old Trail in Crozet, and/or other locations as can be arranged. There is no cost to musicians to participate and the program is open to all area musicians age 14 and up, advanced beginners through advanced or professional level players – ASO membership is not required.
The repertoire worked on is dependent upon the number of musicians who sign up as well as the skill levels and instruments played. For example, we generally can accommodate different levels of string and wind players. We have also included voice and piano in our groups. Brass players – please contact us, if you are interested. If you have music for brass and strings or brass and winds or other, we would love to hear from you.
Filling out the registration form below does not commit you to playing with us but will get you on the mailing list for future updates. We are always happy to entertain suggestions about what to play and where to perform. Thanks for your interest!
